about us

vision

Our vision is a community that has a 90% average live-release rate from municipal shelters.  We hope to reduce the number of animals that are surrendered to shelters for financial reasons and that are born unwanted.  We believe that every animal deserves a loving home with an owner that can afford veterinary care and that no pet should go without medical care due to financial restrictions.

Mission

Our mission is to provide high quality, affordable, and accessible veterinary care for all pet owners in a caring and compassionate way.  We believe in pet care education and will provide services to any pet in need, within our capacity of care. Our mission includes providing shelter and rescue animals high-quality care at an affordable cost to the rescue. We believe that collaboration is how we will see our vision come to fruition.

Values

TLC PetSnip, Inc. will provide the highest level of care to our patients and their families, both on a professional and personal level. Our staff and our volunteers will reflect our core values of compassion, personal responsibility, and outstanding service at all times. We will strive to be role models in our community by positively impacting animal welfare.

OUR STORY

Terry Sandlak and her late mother, LaVerne Peyton, had a dream to start a high quality facility that provided affordable pet care that owner’s could trust and in 2012, TLC PetSnip, Incorporated was formed for that reason. Terry created the 501(c)3 because out of the concern of pet overpopulation and unnecessary euthanasia in Florida. She discovered that the main reason people do not spay/neuter their pets is because of the high cost or the lack of access to services and she wanted to change that for the communities she loves.

TLC PetSnip, Inc. was selected and mentored by Humane Alliance (now ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance) to create the High Quality, High Volume Spay/Neuter (HQHVSN) clinic in Polk County.

TLC PetSnip, Inc. is the first non-profit spay/neuter and wellness organization in Polk County. Established in 2013, we have successfully performed over 90,000 spays and neuters. TLC PetSnip, Inc. serves Polk and surrounding counties by offering affordable HQHVSN and medical appointments. Each week, our location serve over 400 patients among surgery, vaccines, preventative care and sick appointments. Terry and the TLC PetSnip family is extremely appreciative of the opportunity brought before them and for the ability to help thousands of animals across Central Florida.

TLC stands for “Terry LaVerne’s Clinic”, which is why we were proud to announce the opening of The Peyton Surgical Center for her namesake.

Our mission to provide safe, affordable access to veterinary care

By preventing unwanted litters from ever being born fewer homeless dogs and cats end up in over-burdened shelters where they face euthanasia and affordable care means that less animals end up in the shelter as financial burdens to their owners.
