What does a logo mean?

What does a logo mean? Businesses and organizations choose their logo’s for many reasons, often they are personal and have very special meanings. For us, our logo is no different, it has a deep and personal meaning to all of the TLC PetSnip family. Have you wondered what the “TLC” in our name means? Most people believe that it stands for Tender-Loving-Care, which are all things that we believe every pet deserves. The truth behind our name can be found in understanding why we were created.

Our founder was inspired to create a world that made it easy for people to care for their pets. She has worked her entire life to better the world for animals and their owners through rescuing abandoned and homeless Great Pyrenees. These gentle giants are a working breed that are often misunderstood and find themselves in shelters or with owners that are unable to care for their needs. That opened her eyes to an even bigger problem, the cost of veterinary care can be just too much for some people, large dogs can mean large bills. She saw that some of these dogs were ending up in these situations simply because their owners were unable to afford basic veterinary care like spay/neuter surgeries, heart worm prevention and vaccinations. She worked hard for several years and in 2013 TLC PetSnip-Lakeland was opened.

On August 2nd we entered our 7th year of serving people and animals across three counties. We are all so very humbled by this milestone. When Terry and her mom, LeVerne, wanted to start a non-profit veterinary clinic it was to make a difference in the lives of needy animals. Here we are, 7 years later and their dream has made a difference to over 200,000 animals across Polk, Hillsborough and Marion Counties. 60,000 dogs and cats have successfully been spay/neutered and millions of unbirthdays have been celebrated and thousands of vaccines have been given.

So, you ask, “What does TLC mean?” Well, it means “Terry & LeVerne’s Clinic”, we were created because of these two ladies love and dedication. We are entering into our 7th year and with that we have decided to update a few things, but we are never going to stray from our mission. Our original logo and be recognized because of the very distinctive heart. The heart is important to us because it represents the love that was poured into our creation-everything starts with a heartbeat. Please take a moment to notice that even though our logo has changed, our heart will always be present.
