We are GROWING

We are so excited to announce that we are expanding our Polk County Surgical Center!

We opened our Lakeland facility in 2013 because the euthanasia rate was mind-boggling! We started with the mission and vision that we would help end euthanasia as population control in the shelters. Dogs and cats end up in shelters for multiple reasons, but the most common reason is simply being born!

We started down this journey to provide affordable spay/neuter services to every pet owner in the community! The best way to prevent unwanted litters from being born is by sterilizing the “parents” before they can be parents. We understand that pet care can be expensive and we are here to bridge the gap between general practice offices and shelters, we want to stop the cycle!

As of January 2021, we have spayed and neutered over 45,000 dogs and cats in Polk County and more than 67,000 across Polk, Hillsborough, and Marion counties. We know that the ripple effect is going to take time but we are already seeing a difference in surrendered puppies and kittens losing their lives unnecessarily. There has been an increase in the live release rate of shelter animals in this community.

The time has arrived, sooner than expected, that we have out-grown our surgery center and we need a bigger space. We have been planning to do this almost since our first patient entered the building in 2013. We are pleased to announce that the time is NOW and we are EXPANDING!!!

In 2018 we acquired the building next door and our plans have been to renovate and make that space our surgical center! We will be more than doubling our surgical capacity once this is complete. However, growth does come with its challenges.

We are off to a great start but we need the community to help make this dream come true! The renovations, permits, and equipment are going to be costly. Right now we are asking you, our clients/patients, and supporters to help make this dream a reality. We are expecting over $500,000 worth of work to be needed at the new Surgical Center and existing surgical center.

What are we doing with the existing surgical center? We are going to make that building our new Wellness Center. There will be more on that later :)

DONATE now and help us make Polk a No-Kill community.

Please follow along with us on this journey on all of our social media pages.
