Helping Polk County families get their pets spayed and neutered—regardless of financial barriers.
TLC PetSnip's Spay & Neuter Voucher Program helps eligible Polk County residents access affordable spay and neuter surgery for their owned dogs and cats.

Spaying or Neutering Your Pet Is Easier Than You Think
1. Check Eligibility
Review the qualifications below to determine whether you may qualify.
2. Submit an Appointment Request
Complete the online Spay & Neuter appointment, place “ Spay & Neuter Voucher” in the appointment notes and upload the REQUIRED documentation.
*If “Spay & Neuter Voucher” is NOT entered into the appointment notes, your application will be automatically DECLINED.
3. Receive Approval Email
Approved applicants will receive email information about their approved appointment and how to prepare for their pet's surgery.
If you receive an email stating your appointment was declined, the reason why your appointment was declined will be stated on the email.
4. Arrive On Your Pets Scheduled Surgery Day
On the date of your pets scheduled surgery day, arrive at the appropriate drop of time for your pet. Dog drop off time is 7:30 a.m. Cat drop off time is 8:00 a.m.

You May Qualify If:
✓ You are a Polk County, Florida resident
✓ You are an individual who meet 150% of or are below the federal poverty level
✓ You receive Medicaid/Medicare benefits or having an ACCESS EBT Card
✓You receive Social Security Disability benefits
✓You are a disabled Veteran
✓ You meet the program's financial eligibility requirements
✓ You can provide the required documentation when applying
FAILURE TO UPLOAD ANY DOCUMENTS WILL RESULT IN A DECLINED VOUCHER.
Financial Eligibility
Applicants must provide documentation demonstrating financial need, such as:
Proof of participation in an eligible government assistance program; or
Documentation showing household income meets the program's income guidelines.
Proof of Polk County Residency.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Each approved appointment does require a $50 deposit per animal.
TLC PetSnip performs the qualifying spay or neuter procedure at the program rate of $105 - $215, which means:

What is not Included?
Examples that are NOT included in surgery pricing:
Vaccinations and or Preventative testing such as Heartworm Tests and Felv/FIV tests (If your pet does not have a valid 1 year rabies vaccine, your pet WILL receive one at the time of the procedure for an additional $15 cost)
If a TLC PetSnip veterinarian determines that your pet has a BCS of 6 or higher, an additional $50 surgical fee will apply to accommodate the increased medical resources required for their procedure.
Pre-operative bloodwork when required (Any pet 7 years and older is REQUIRED to have pre-operative bloodwork at an additional cost of $220)
Additional medications or treatments
Treatment of medical conditions discovered during examination or upon surgery such as: Heart Murmurs, Pets that are Pregnant, Cryptorchid Pets or Pets that require a Scrotal Ablation or Hernia Repair.
Optional services such as : Microchips, Nail Trims, Anal Gland Expressions and Ear Cleanings
Additional surgical procedures
Fees associated with conditions that increase surgical risk or complexity
TLC PetSnip will explain any additional recommended or required services before treatment whenever possible.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO APPLY
Have These Items Ready
Before starting your application, have the following available:
✓ Photo identification
✓ Proof of Polk County residency
✓ Proof of eligibility or household income documentation
✓ Proof of Medicaid/Medicare benefits or having an ACCESS EBT Card
✓ Proof of Receiving Social Security Disability benefits
✓ Proof of Disabled Veteran benefits
Providing complete and accurate information will help prevent delays in processing your application.
IMPORTANT PROGRAM INFORMATION
One Voucher = One Pet
Each voucher may only be used for the pet identified on the approved application.
Approval Is Required Before Surgery
Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee approval.
Vouchers Cannot Be Transferred
Vouchers should only be used by the approved applicant for the pet listed on the appointment request.
Appointments Are Based on Availability
Voucher approval does not guarantee an immediate surgery date. Scheduling is based on appointment availability at TLC PetSnip.
Medical Requirements Still Apply
The veterinarian performing the procedure has final authority regarding whether a pet can safely undergo surgery.

Donations to TLC PetSnip's Spay & Neuter Voucher program help provide spay and neuter vouchers to Polk County families who otherwise may not be able to afford surgery for their pets.
$50 can sponsor one qualifying spay or neuter surgery.
